Sycamore ceiling fan

I have been using Sycamore ceiling fan for five years. People have always asked me is it good? I know many will brush it off as another designer fan that is expensive and swear that KDK fan is cheaper and better. I want to say that Sycamore fan is more than looks. It is really a good ceiling fan. Firstly, the span is good for a small room. Next, the fan is very quiet. I know many ceiling fan sounds like a helicopter. But Sycamore is very quiet. Thirdly, many ceiling fan issue is that you need to sit directly below it to feel the wind. Sycamore single blade design is such that the wind is spread out in a cone direction. So even you are not sitting directly underneath it, you will still feel the wind. Then, the wind is pretty strong and breezy. Lastly, the fan has only one blade meaning that cleaning is extremely easy. But the only downside is it is not cheap. It costs easily over $800 for one. You can get it at Elmark in Ubi.

Amex Capital card

Credit card is a very good thing in Singapore. It is quite a different thing from other countries. Like my friend in Malaysia, he told me they can only apply up to like two cards for “free”. Third card onwards, they need to pay. This is to limit people from over spend and in debt. But here no such thing and they give all sort of candy to make you apply. Anyway, if you use correctly, it will benefit you. So is all about self disciple. Which is my best card now? Actually I do not have one best card in any time as I use different card for different purpose. But one card I find it good now is Amex capital card. If you are capital mall members, this Amex will couple together to give you more benefits. One of the best deal they have now is they tie up with SPC. If you pump in bukit timah or Yishun, you can 18% upfront discount. Then Amex get you additional 11.1% rebate. Out of which 4.1% is in Capital mall points. Then once in a while, they have some interesting tie up with merchants like you use QR code payment in Hawker or coffee shop, give $1 rebate. Overall, this card I feel is good.

Nasi Lemak Ayam Taliwang

Just visited Ayam Taliwang @ Yishun Hawker center. Is it good? I say it is not too bad. Firstly, the staffs are friendly. Next, the price is reasonable. I order chicken and fish set which cost $4.50 before discount. But is the food good? The chilli is nice. Chicken wing is crispy. Rice is chewy. What is lacking a bit is the rice not enough coconut milk taste. Else it will be perfect.

AMK Hub NTUC

Among so many hypermarket, I like AMK Hub NTUC xtra the most. Why is it good? Firstly, the parking is easy access to the store. Secondly, it is big. Thirdly, I always go groceries shopping at midnight and I found that many other stores hypermarket left only one checkout counter in operation. AMK Hub store not only has a few counter in operation at midnight, the self check out counter is open too! So no long queuing and waiting.

Starhub TV+

Starhub Go has now changed to Starhub TV+. Is it good? No. The interface sucks! I have been using Starhub Go and the interface though is far from being perfect, it is still consider easy to navigate to the live channel I wanted. Now when you on the apps, everything just exploded into your face. Very hard to nagivate. Super lousy.

Five & 2

Saw a cozy little restaurant situated in Punggol Park. Is it good? Not really. Order three items. First is har cheong pork belly. OK. This one not bad and cost $10.90. Next is seafood burger. I find it taste weird and burger is a bit small. Lastly is curry chicken shepherd pie. Both cost $16.80 each. Also not very nice. Then you need to order from a kiosk like fast food. After that you need to return tray to get back $1 like Hawker center. If I did not check the receipt, I would not know that I was charged with the tray deposit. Not everything is bad though. The service charge is only 2% and parking is not hard as there is a small car park just next to it. But I think this place is more for beer and finger food with friends.

Daiso Thomson Plaza

In phase 2, Daiso is one of the hottest place people are flocking to. I wish to buy something and decided to try my luck at Thomson plaza. It indeed is less crowded but come at a price. There are so many things I intend to buy are not found there! Not very good.

Hong Kong show – The Exorcist’s 2nd Meter 降魔的2.0

I have not watched HK series for a very long time ever since Korean series invaded my TV. I happened to come across this latest HK show 降魔的2.0. I have watched series 1 and think is pretty nice. So I decided to continue to series 2. Is it good? I would say the show is pretty nice with more special effects. But this time I find the show is more vulgar. The ending I dun like though cos it has some scenes leaving you thinking what is happening. I feel they already planning for series 3. So those unexplained will be explained by then I guess.

Brita pitcher

Although they said the water is so clean that you can drink directly off the tap, I dun bet on it. I still a filter believer. As I am not the kind of people to pay a lot of money to have an excellent complex filter system install in my home, I opt for a easier and cheaper option. I put a cloth filter at the tap output. But I still use a filter water jug as a 2nd line of defence. Have been using Brita for two months. Is it good? I love it. Firstly, it is big! Previously, I am using Novita. The reservoir is very small. So I have to wait for the water to finish dripping before pouring more. Brita has no such issue. Secondly, the opening for water pouring is lift up. Novita one is put down and it can really contaminate the water. Brita no such issue. Finally, the filter is easy to install. Novita has an additional piece of filter to attach to the filter. It is very hard to clean. Brita has no additional piece and so no such issue. Brita jug and filter started pack is made in China. Cost around $40. There is no official seller here as far as I know. You can buy at Lazada or Shopee sellers. Subsequent filter replacement will be made in Germany. Typical price is $10 per filter.
